What We Do
Explore our key focus areas in EcoSciGen's work on climate change:
At the core of EcoSciGen’s work is our dedication to advancing climate literacy, and empowering individuals and communities to become informed, towards strengthening their resilience to climate change. Our work is targeted at providing accessible, contextualized climate education that demystifies the complexities of climate science.
Climate adaptation is important in protecting at-risk communities & individuals and allowing them to prepare for and respond to the impact of climate change. EcoSciGen works closely with at-risk communities to elevate their voices and integrate traditional knowledge into climate adaptation strategies and targeted community-based adaptation projects that sustainably improve their livelihoods & strengthen their resilience to climate change impacts.
EcoSciGen is committed to advocating for policy changes at the local, national, and regional levels to drive climate action. We engage with community leaders and government stakeholders to advocate for evidence-based policies that drive climate adaptation and resilience efforts in our communities. Our advocacy efforts ensure that climate policies are responsive to the needs of vulnerable communities so as to achieve a resilient future for all.
EcoSciGen involves men and women equally in decision-making processes and ensure that they play complementary roles in community climate discourse. The gender dimension varies across different communities, we work alongside local communities to implement initiatives that address the impacts of climate change in ways that are sensitive to their unique gender needs and contexts.
